L: I got £5 a week when I was about 12.

L: Everyone got around the same amount.

L: I was better at saving.

L: I was brought up to save so I knew that if I saved £5 a week then at the end of the month I could buy something for £20, which meant l could get
something bigger.

Q: What did you save your money in?

L: I had a piggybank.

Q: What did you spend your pocket money on?

L: I spent it on sweets and a football. I also bought the SWV CD, “Right Here”.

Q: Did you ever ask your parents for a raise?

L: No.

Q: What was the most expensive item you ever bought with your pocket money?

L: A CD.

Q: When did you open your first bank account and why?

L: My parents opened my first bank account for me when I was about 15 or 16.
