Q: How much pocket money did you get when you were younger?

HD: Around $5-$10 a week (£3-£7) depending on how good I’d been! If there were other things I needed then I’d ask my parents and they’d decide if I deserved it!

Q: Did you get more or less than your siblings/friends?

HD: My sister and I got the same in regards to our ages. She always got a bit more than me because she is older. Some of my friends got more than us but my mom has always tried to teach us the value.

Q: Were you better at spending or saving?

HD: I have to confess I am better at spending especially when it comes to shoes! But have taught myself to be much better at saving and don’t impulse buy as much.

Q: Why?

HD: I would hate to be in debt. It would really freak me out!

Q: What did you save your money in?

HD: When I was really young a piggybank for my own money I could spend, but my acting money has always been kept in savings/high interest account. I’m not allowed to touch that ‘til I’m older!

Q: What did you spend your pocket money on?

HD: Make up and accessories, getting coffee and sodas with my friends. And going to bowling alleys!

Q: Did you ever ask your parents for a raise?

HD: All the time, rarely got anywhere though!

Q: How much did you
ask for?

HD: Oh, thousands probably!

Q: Did you get it?

HD: No, but they did give me a bit more when I was good!

Q: When did you open your first bank account and why?

HD: My parents opened one for me when I was a little girl to start saving early!

Q: Do you have any money or savings tips for OINK! readers?

HD: Instead of spending all your money on little bits and pieces save it for something really special that will last
