How much pocket money did you get when you were younger?
PJ: £5 a week.
SG: There wasn’t a set amount, but visiting my grandparents was always fun, though!!
TR: £5 a week.

Did you get more or less than your siblings/friends?

PJ: The same.
SG: Always the same as my sister and similar amounts to my friends.
TR: The same.

Were you better at spending or saving?
PJ: Saving.
SG: A bit of both, but I spent a lot on sweets and trips to the Pleasure Beach.
TR: I’ve always been brilliant at spending and rubbish at saving.
Why?
PJ: Why? I am a girl!
SG: I’ve loved retail therapy since the age of eight!

What did you save your money in?
PJ: A piggybank.
SG: I had a piggybank and a savings account.
TR: I have never saved.

What did you spend your pocket money on?
PJ: Clothes and shoes.
SG: I‘ve always been mad for magazines.
TR: Magazines and sweets.

Did you ever ask your parents for a raise?
PJ: YES!
SG: I probably did.
TR: Always! It never happened, though.

How much did you ask for?
PJ:
An extra £5.
SG: I don’t remember.
TR: An extra £20 per week.

Did you get it?
PJ:
No... I was already spoiled
SG: I was quite good at getting my own way with my mum!
TR: No. My dad said I had to work to learn the value of money.

What was the most expensive item you ever bought with your pocket money?
PJ: A Karaoke machine.
SG: It was a Barbie Ferrari or a huge dolls house which I still have in the loft.
TR: A Cabbage Patch Kid. I loved it!

When did you open your first bank account and why?
PJ: When I was 14. I was given a cheque for £200. It was for an advert I did.
SG: We were all given a chance to open a savings account at primary school. When I was 13 Natwest came to my school and I opened up my current account.
TR: I was 13 and had
