Name: Natasha Bedingfield

Age: 23
Job: Singer/Songwriter

Natasha Bedingfield has been a massive success in the charts - but how good was she at handling her pocket money when she was younger? And, has she got any special saving and spending tips for us? Lets find out....

Q: How much pocket money did you get when you were younger?
N.B: Gosh, I can’t actually remember, I don’t think we got a set amount. We didn’t really need it, though, as all we wanted to do was sing and play instruments at home!

Q: Was it the same for your siblings/friends?
N.B: My parents have always been very fair with the four of us, so I’m sure we were all treated equally. I think my friends were all in the same position as me.

Q: Were you better at spending or saving?
N.B: I’ve always been better at saving because I think I always knew that I would need a little bit of money to do what I wanted to do later on in life…

Q: What did you save your money in?
N.B: I just had a pot on my chest of drawers in my room and used to put all loose change into that.

Q: What did you spend your pocket money on?
N.B: Singing lessons and blank cassettes. I always used to make my own compilations on tapes!

Q: What was the most expensive item you ever bought with your pocket money?
N.B: My Walkman, so I could listen to my music on the way to school.

Q: When did you open your first bank account and why?
N.B: I opened it when I first went to university - a student account which was very dangerous with the overdraft and credit cards!

Q: Do you have any money or savings tips for OINK! readers?
N.B: Don’t let money be the most important thing in your life. Love and support are far more important. If you are loved this will make you much happier than having lots of money.
