Q: How much pocket money did you get when you were younger?
J.T: £5 per week.
H.L: Can’t actually remember but about £10 per week.

Q: Did you get more or less than your siblings/friends?
J.T: We all got about the same but we wanted more!
H.L: The same as siblings but less than friends, at least that’s what I thought!

Q: Were you better at spending or saving?
J.T: Spending, I couldn’t keep money in my pocket for any longer than a day!
H.L: Definitely spending, still am! Coz I even loved my clothes then!

Q: What did you save your money in?
J.T: My pocket, although we did have piggy banks but I never used mine!
H.L: In a pretty pink wallet that I thought was so cool when I was little.

Q: What did you spend your pocket money on?
J.T: Football Panini stickers, when I had the books to fill in!
H.L: Make up, CDs (usually singles) and sweets.
Did you ever ask your parents for a raise?
J.T: Don’t all kids want more money?!
H.L: All the time - usually about £20.

Q: What was the most expensive item you ever bought with your pocket money?
J.T: The Middlesborough football strip, I had the whole lot, socks, shirt, shorts and even shin pads!
H.L: A pair of gorgeous girlie grown up shoes, they were high heels!

Q: When did you open your first bank account and why?
J.T: 14, my mum made me open a bank account so I could save up for my school trip.
H.L: I actually can’t remember but I think I pestered my parents to do it for me so I could have a card, I thought they were so cool to have in your wallet!

Q: Do you have any money or savings tips for OINK! readers?
J.T: Get your pocket money in a cheque, then you can’t spend it instantly as you have to pay it in first!
H.L: You should live life and have fun and that sometimes involves spending money!
