Q: How much pocket money did you get when you were younger?

SM: It all depended on how good I was and how many chores I did!

Q: Did you get more or less than your siblings / friends?

SM: I always got less than my brothers because they are older than me.

Q: Were you better at spending or saving?

SM: Definitely spending! I loved buying stuff like gadgets and magic tricks.

Q: What did you save your money in?

SM: A Chocolate Money machine!

Q: What did you spend your pocket money on?

SM: Sweets and games.

Q: Did you ever ask your parents for a raise?

SM: I started working for my parents when I was 12, so rather than pocket money I was getting wages. They paid me £10 a week to help out on their market stall - selling all the latest gadgets and toys!

Q: What was the most expensive item you ever bought with your pocket money?

SM: Computer games – but I did have to save for them.

Q: When did you open your first bank account and why?

SM: When I was 15 years old – I really wanted to start trying to save.

SM: Try to save as much as you can – you never know when you’re going to need it!
